Doing Good: Making an Impact in Portland

One thing we at Continuum are passionate about is making an impact, and elevating the local economy. We love when we can build relationships with local businesses, run by people we respect and enjoy spending time with, and when they inspire us to do good things for the community? Well, that’s icing on an already pretty amazing cake.

My friendship with Alyson of Clair Vintage Inspired began as a photography collaboration, but we’ve done a lot together since, both for fun and for things bigger than ourselves. We’re both enthusiastic about supporting local creatives and small businesses in Portland, and we’ve had some great opportunities to put our skills to use towards that. Alyson took it up a notch over the holidays, however, and spearheaded a Bra Drive, in cooperation with Union Rose, to benefit the Portland Rescue Mission. She called me in for the final count at Union Rose, and I documented the results: over 37 pounds of donated bras!

Alyson and I will also be teaming up again on this coming Saturday morning, this time to benefit Special Olympics Oregon… see photos, and find out what crazy thing we’re doing next, after the jump:
