Portland Fashion Photographer | Clair Fall 2011 Fashion | Shop Local Preview!
This has to be one of the most exciting Portland fashion photography projects I’ve had yet: when I was asked about shooting the Clair Fall 2011 collection, we had the clothes, but not the concept. We’d started out 2011 with fashion photography for Spring supporting a cause, so I thought it’d be cool to continue the trend, and shoot for another cause that we both support: Shopping Local! From there, the idea blossomed into an on-the-go photoshoot over multiple days, featuring some of our favorite Portland local businesses and entrepreneurs wearing cute ensembles from the new Fall collection!
I’m super-excited to kick things off by introducing one of my favorite local ladies: seriously, can I just tell you how much I adore Portland hairstylist Kira Pinski? She’s been doing hair at Salon Cappelli here in Portland, and she’s a charming and fun person with a healthy sense of wonder. I don’t usually tell people to smile when I shoot with them, but Kira was all smiles when we shot with her, and it totally suits her.
I’ve worked with more than a few hairstylists over the years on fashion and commercial photoshoots in Portland, but Kira has become my go-to lady when I need to freshen up my own hairdo. She gets excited and geeks out about hair the way I do about my own work, and every haircut I have with her feels like an epic voyage of discovery. She really loves what she does, and I have fun every time I get to visit her, so I had a great time capturing her in her element, wearing a sparkly and super-flattering dress from Clair’s Fall collection.
I’ll be talking about more of our featured local entrepreneurial ladies soon, but in the meantime, keep supporting Portland’s economy by buying local!
